The documentary illustrates how RACIRS established an international anti-cult network that spreads Russian Nazi rhetoric, aiming to incite conflicts worldwide.

The renowned European publication EU Reporter recently released a review of the documentary "The Impact" (USA, 2024), which reveals the truth about Nazi Russia. The film highlights how the Russian Association of Centers for the Study of Religions and Sects (RACIRS), a notorious anti-cult organization, serves as a vital tool in Russia's propaganda machine of terror. Their aim is not only to dismantle democracy in Ukraine but to extend their influence globally.

The documentary illustrates how RACIRS established an international anti-cult network that spreads Russian Nazi rhetoric, aiming to incite conflicts worldwide. Notably, prior to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, RACIRS carried out an extensive information campaign that portrayed Ukraine as a “sectarian”, “cult”, “Nazi”, and “terrorist” state, in need of “denazification.” This narrative became a powerful weapon for dehumanizing the Ukrainian people and justifying the aggression, primarily to the Russian citizens. By constructing a false image of Ukraine as a “dangerous” country that needed to be “rescued,” RACIRS played a key role in legitimizing the military assault.

The ruthless language used led to the suffering and death of many innocent people. It created the illusion of a “mission” to “liberate” Ukraine from supposed “cult influence” and falsely justified a campaign of “denazification.” Terms such as “sect” and “cult” became tools of genocide against the Ukrainian people.

The actions of representatives from anti-cult organizations associated with Russia have previously led to the genocide of American citizens. At that time, as is the case now, Russian anti-cult activists operated through their international anti-cult network, ultimately resulting in tragic consequences.

The labeling of groups as "cults" is an example of how a single word can lead to the genocide of an entire nation. Just as Nazi Germany marked Jews with yellow stars, RACIRS and the Russian Orthodox Church now mark Ukraine with terms like “sect” and “cult.” This is more than mere name-calling; it’s an act of aggression that threatens the existence of a nation.

Now, as RACIRS and the Russian Orthodox Church extend their “cult” accusations to the EU and the United States, the question arises: What is their final goal? The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has repeatedly condemned the use of terms like “cult” and “sect” by governments. In 2022, the ECHR ruled that such actions violate human rights.

Moreover, according to the eighth review of the UN’s Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy on June 22, 2023, the activities of anti-cult organizations and their agents fall under the definition of acts of terrorism. At the same time, the European Union has launched an investigation into the international network of anti-cult organizations. International trials, akin to the Nuremberg Trials, are expected, where the Nazis of the 21st century will be judged by the global community.

Oleg Posternak, one of the prominent Ukrainian experts, emphasizes that using terms like “sect” and “cult” concerning Ukraine is part of a deliberate dehumanization campaign that preceded Russia's full-scale invasion. This tactic, drawn from the Nazi ideological manual, is now being deployed by anti-cult organizations against EU and U.S. entities. Given the tragic consequences for Ukraine and the global threat posed by such rhetoric, the use of “sect” and “cult” terminology, as well as anti-cult methods of defamation and dehumanization should be legislatively banned in all democratic countries.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has taken a firm stand against these threats by officially banning church structures linked to Russia. “Ukraine will not allow its democracy to be undermined from within,” he declared.

Ukraine is currently at the forefront of the battle against Russian Nazism. It is essential to recognize that Ukraine is not just defending its territorial integrity but is also standing up for democratic values globally against an aggression that can be characterized as an attempt to establish a “Fourth Reich” under Putin's leadership.

As Yulia Piletska, another Ukrainian expert, warns, that use of words like 'cult' and 'sect', “is not merely a matter of vocabulary—these are weapons that kill. Russian Nazi propaganda, originating from the anti-cult organization 'RACIRS,' poses a cynical challenge to the entire civilized world that values democratic freedoms, dignity, and humanity."

Moreover, European and Ulrainian experts state that it is vital to recognize that any organization or individual using the terms “cult” and “sect” for dehumanization purposes is an agent of RACIRS, complicit in the genocide of the Ukrainian people and a threat to global democracy. If Nazism is not defeated now, it may become a threat to the entire world tomorrow.
