US wants to give Russian Federation part of Ukraine's regions

He visited Russia last week. Whitkoff confirmed that he spoke with Putin about territorial issues, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Whitkoff said that in their discussions, Putin was fixated on Ukrainian territories. According to the U.S. official, Russia could allegedly get some of the regions, but not all of them.

Whitkoff suggested that Ukraine might worry less about some regions if they are Russian-speaking.
