US Secretary of State sees Russia's readiness to talk about peace in Ukraine

Rubio was asked what his impression was after talks with the Russians regarding their willingness to start a negotiation process to end the Russia-Ukraine war, Fox News reported.

“We met with them two weeks ago, and the gist of our meeting was very simple - are you interested in talking about ending this war, or not? Because you can't change our relationship in any significant way as long as this war is going on. Their answer was that they are interested in talking about it. Now we have to take the next steps. It's hard to take the next steps when the other side of the conflict says they're not interested in peace at all, and that's the message that's come through. Hopefully, that's being corrected. And then I think it will open the door to thinking about whether it's possible,” Rubio said.
