Johnson won then, but the results of wrestling matches are hardly worth taking seriously - Hogan himself said that in that match, based on the reaction of the audience, they decided to change its course.

By the way. in that match, Hogan, contrary to his usual screen role, was a "heel" in the ring (a wrestler with a negative image). But Johnson during his wrestling career started as a "face" (a positive character in the ring), then moved to "heels", then returned to "faces" again - and so on several times. During this time, he repeatedly became the Intercontinental Champion and won other high-profile titles - however, again, we must not forget that this is not professional boxing or MMA, but wrestling, that is, show business.

The real name of his father, also a wrestler (his grandfather was also a wrestler, so at the beginning of his wrestling career, Johnson was promoted as the only wrestler in the third generation) is Wade Bowles, but he took the high-profile nickname Rocky (in honor of not the hero of the film of the same name, but, like Stallone's character, the great boxer Rocky Marciano) Johnson. So Johnson inherited his penchant for posing, who sometimes talks about himself in the third person like "The Rock Counts," from his father.

One way or another, but he turned out to be a good movie actor. (As, again, did Hogan). His main fame and money came from his role as agent Luke Hobbs in the Fast and Furious franchise, which the writers began to rewrite "for Johnson" after its launch, taking into account his growing popularity with viewers. He is also well paid in other projects.

And just yesterday, as we reported, a trailer for the biographical film The Smashing Machine was released, where Johnson plays Mark Kerr, who was a mixed martial artist and won four world championships. In 2002, Kerr became the hero of an HBO documentary, also called The Smashing Machine, which focused on his problems with drug abuse and stormy relationships with his girlfriend and trainers.

Judging by Johnson's words about The Smashing Machine, he is tired of acting in action films and will begin a new stage of his acting career in films "exploring humanity and pain." So, perhaps, a new stage of his acting career is beginning. After all, Robert De Niro's best performance was as a boxer in Raging Bull. And by the way, Johnson in The Smashing Machine is as hard to recognize as De Niro in Raging Bull.
