Putin and Zelensky must talk and compromise on something - Kellogg's

President Vladimir Zelensky and the Russian dictator should hold talks and the Kremlin's claims that Zelensky is illegitimate won't work.

“But it won't work. They have to talk. And both sides have to give up something,” said U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg.

The Russian Federation has long promoted the thesis about the alleged illegitimacy of Zelensky's tenure as president of Ukraine. The latter has been in office since 2019, and his official term of office ended in May 2024. However, due to the martial law imposed in the country, the head of state continues to fulfill his duties legally, Tagesschau reports.

Kellogg denied the suggestion that US President Donald Trump allegedly plans to negotiate exclusively with Putin.

“We realize that the three sides have to talk to each other, especially the two protagonists, the Russians and the Ukrainians, they have to sit down and talk,” he explained.
